Upload Videos to KUMC Media Server

TLT does not recommend uploading large video files to Blackboard. This slows the system and slow downloads for students as Blackboard is not designed to be a media server. To get videos on the server, you had to get the video file to TLT by flash drive or large file transfer. Then, TLT has to move it to the Relay server. Now there is a a simpler and faster method to get your video on the Relay media server.

How to Upload Videos to Media Server

  1. Make sure your video file type is .mov or .mp4. (If it is not one of these types, you will need to contact TLT for assistance.)
  2. Start Relay.
  3. Click "Upload."
  4. Click "Add Media."
  5. Navigate your computer and select the video file.
  6. Relay will preview the video you have selected.
  7. Click "Upload All" to finish the process.
  8. You will get a message that the upload process is taking place. Once the video is ready, you will get an email from Relay with a link you can put into Blackboard, just like when you do any Relay recording.
If you need additional assistance or need a Relay account, please contact TLT at 913-588-7107 or
