New to TLT - April Robbs, Kahlia Ford and Mike Smith

New TLT-EdTech eLearning Support Specialist: April Robbs

This June, April Robbs was hired as the eLearning Support Specialist for the School of Medicine. She is stepping in to fill the shoes of Susan Bailey, who left us for a position with the University of Iowa School of Engineering. April received her undergraduate degree from Emporia State University. Before starting at KUMC, she taught middle school science in Burlingame and then Ottawa Middle School.  She is currently working on her master’s degree in Instructional Design and Technology at Emporia State. She enjoys designing lessons that engage learners and is excited to support the School of Medicine faculty and staff here at KUMC. In her spare time, April is a fan of the outdoors and is learning to play the upright bass.

New TLT-EdTech Compliance LMS Administrator: Kahlia Ford

TLT welcomes Kahlia Ford, our new Compliance LMS Administrator.  She will be the system administrator for the University's new online compliance training system, TLC, which will be replacing Chalk in 2015.

New TLT-Media AV Classroom Support Specialist: Michael Smith

Michael Smith comes to KU after 17 years as an AV Tech with Shook, Hardy & Bacon, a Kansas City law firm.  Mike’s hometown is Independence, MO; but he now lives in Blue Springs, Mo with his fiancĂ©.  In Mike’s free time he enjoys writing, filmmaking, and spending time with his 12 year old daughter.

The AV Tech work has been a breeze for Mike; he has said his biggest challenge has been learning his way around campus!   Already doing a great job, we are thrilled to have Mike as part of the TLT-Media team!
