Blackboard Assignment (dropbox) interface change

We recently implemented a change to the Assignment (Dropbox) item in Blackboard to get ready for an upgrade to the Assignment item. This has changed the interface slightly for faculty. Students will not see the change until the full implementation later in the year. The functionality of the Assignments have not changed but it does look different. We have created a short video on the changes. If you have questions please watch the video and if that does not explain your question please contact your liaison or elearning support specialist.

Blackboard item analysis fails when questions are set to 0

There is a known issue with our version of Blackboard that if a question in a test is set to 0 points running the item analysis will fail. I know that there will be very few questions that will ever have 0 points however there is another cause. From the tests that we have been told the item analysis has failed  the questions are linked from a pool. The pool questions are set to 0 points and since the question in the test is linked to that pool question running the item analysis will fail. To know if your questions are link you will see this icon next to the question.



Unfortunately, there is not currently a fix for this from blackboard and trying edit the pool question will not fix the issue and allow the item analysis to run. Right now the best thing to do is to check your tests and if you see the icon above and you know what pool the questions come from. Check that pool and edit the questions if they are set to 0. If you do not know what pool the questions are in we can help you to find the questions. We apologize for this inconvenience.
