Scheduled Blackboard Maintenance (5/31)

RTF Files and Blackboard

When opening an RTF file in Blackboard using Internet Explorer you will be prompted to login again 2 possibly even 3 times. This has been made an official bug by Blackboard and they will release a fix for it some time later. If you run into this issue the workaround is to click "Cancel" when you are prompted and it will then open the file. You can also use another browser (FireFox, Chrome, Safari) to download these types of files without an issue. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Blackboard Enrollment Changes

Starting with Summer 2013 classes, we’re changing how we add and remove students from their Blackboard coursesites. Students will be automatically added and removed from Blackboard coursesites based on their Enroll-and-Pay status. It may take one business day for Enroll-and-Pay adds or drops to occur in Blackboard. Faculty will not be able to manually add or remove students from their Blackboard sites.

This change will better manage coursesite access, and it will reduce confusion when students have access to a coursesite even though they have dropped a course, or vice versa.

We understand that occasionally an instructor wants a student to have coursesite access, even though the student is not officially enrolled in the course. Those exceptions need to be discussed with the School’s Dean or delegate, and the exception request will come to TLT from the Dean or Delegate. Although TLT will not add or remove a student from a coursesite without this approval, we will continue to add or remove another/additional instructor to a course; the lead course instructor should request these instructor changes directly to TLT.

Camtasia Relay - May 28 - possible delays

Camtasia Relay users may experience delays in publishing or downloading podcasts on Tuesday, May 28 between the hours of 7 am and 12 pm. Scheduled maintenance will be performed on the server at that time.

Camtasia Relay upgrade June 3

Camtasia Relay at KUMC will be upgraded to version 4.3 on Monday, June 3.
Relay will be unavailable from 6 am to 6 pm that day.
The upgrade will allow for more simultaneous encodings and may shorten the time from your submitting a recording to receiving the link to the finished file. A new recorder will be pushed out to your computer during the outage. Your login information remains the same.

Adobe Connect Upgrade (May 21-22)

Adobe Connect will be unavailable from Tuesday, May 21 at 6 am until Wednesday, May 22 at 6 pm so that we may complete required server maintenance and upgrade to Adobe Connect 9.  Users will not be able to enter, create or edit meetings during this time.
